In 1995, electronics store entrepreneur Tiger Todd, along with his friends and fellow business owners, discover the "truth" of his "Human Change Theory" when the first of over 9,000 homeless individuals attending his "independence" classes, held at Ethyl Pearson Park in Las Vegas, began returning just weeks later as employed and productive community members. That number would increase to over 35,000 over the next decade. The Problem of American Homelessness?

In 1999, Tiger Todd discovers that the same four behaviors common to the first 10,000 homeless people from his active research, were becoming increasingly common among teens attending his presentations at public schools. Knowing where these behaviors lead, he shifts his emphasis to solving the learning problem in public education.
By 2000, a new "treatment" is developed based on Human Change Theory, now called Hero School®, so named after the necessary character transformationundergone by the heroes throughout history, religion, mythology and the movies. Applying this treatment in 45 to 60-minute teen presentations results in immediate decreases in bullying and gang behavior, with simultaneous increases in classroom engagement, vertical learning, and personal responsibility. And attendance. And test scores. And more. And the graduation problem?
